Making Connections With Influential People

Making Connections with Influential People

Successful people know one thing:

They didn’t get where they are alone.

In order to start rising to the top, you’ve got to know the right people.

While much of your success will come from your hard work and dedication, don’t discount the power of simply knowing the right people.

I can hear you already.

“But what if I don’t know anyone?”

Don’t worry. That’s okay—at least at first.

But you’re going to have start getting your name out to influential people. The good news is that in today’s modern era, that’s not as difficult as it sounds.

What you’re going to need is a strong sense of confidence, a great product or service, and a little gumption—then you’ll be on your way to securing relationships with the people who can really help you out.

Let me walk you through the information you need to know in order to start making the right connections today.

Email

People ask me all the time how I know the people I know.

And they can’t believe me when I say that I emailed them.
Sometimes I email them. Sometimes they email me.

Some of them I’ve never met in person.

So how did this happen?

Because I had enough courage to reach out to them.

And that’s the thing. You’re going to need confidence to reach out to these individuals about your product or service—just don’t be afraid.

I know what you might be thinking.

So where do I get their emails?

Easy.

Their company sites, LinkedIn, or anywhere else I can find them on the Internet.

I learned a long time ago to never underestimate the power of Google.

Have a Good Pitch

Next, you’re going to want to have a solid pitch.

Trust me.

You don’t want to walk into these conversations blind. In the event that they write back, you’re going to want to be able to discuss your product intelligently.

You may even want to suggest a phone call so that you can talk more in-depth.

While this is a great idea, make sure that you’re ready for it. Prepare data about your product or service and make sure that you’ve got enough evidence to convince them that you’ve got a great product on your hands.

Don’t Stop

I’ll be the first to tell you that these people don’t always write back.

Keep trying until they do.

Once you get one, the rest will follow. All you need is that first one.

Make sure that you can secure your first big name partnership, then start name-dropping them to the rest. If people think you’re associated with greatness, you’ll be considered a worthwhile investment.

So don’t stop just because they didn’t write back.

By not letting your foot off the pedal, you’ll be able to get in touch with people who can help your business grow. Stay positive throughout the process and realize that it can take a while, and you’ll find that one day you’re where you need to be.

Until then, build your company’s portfolio and keep attempting to contact people in charge.

Trust me: it will work out in the end.
