Do You Have What It Takes?

Do you have what it takes?

“I will be rich,” you tell yourself one day as you look in the mirror. “I can do this. I have everything I need. I am special.”

You repeat this over and over every day in front of the mirror. You sit around, waiting for your miracle to happen. Sometimes, on a whim, you get inspired and make incremental efforts toward your goal.

Eventually, you realize that your goal will never be achieved.

And the reason for that is simple: the power of positive thinking doesn’t work.

At least not alone.

The popular slogan should be combined with another: the power of positive thinking and continuous action—with emphasis on the latter.

Simply put, you will never achieve your goals or dreams without putting your plans into action. It’s simply not enough to just believe that what you want to happen will happen. Making money takes effort—and lots of it.

If the power of positive thinking itself worked, you can guarantee that there would be several more millionaires running around.

They simply just aren’t.

So it’s time to remove pointless optimism from your life. All it does it hold you back. Instead, replace with careful strategy and tireless effort. Replace it with the knowledge that the worst could come—and then prepare for it.

This is the only way to become rich. There are no “get-rich-quick” schemes at life. So don’t expect any.

Understand that in order to be a millionaire, you have to think differently from those around you. What are people around you doing? If you are acting like them, it’s time to stop and change your course.

You will never be part of the 1% if all your actions mirror the 99%. That’s just not how life works. The definition of insanity is said to be doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results. It’s safe to modify it a bit and say the definition of insanity is doing the same things unsuccessful people are doing and expecting to be successful doing them.

So it’s tired to throw away the clichés. It’s time to buckle down and start working.

Now’s your chance.
